Objective

Hulu Original miniseries “Under the Bridge” is based on acclaimed author Rebecca Godfrey’s book of the same name about the 1997 true story of 14-year-old Reena (Vritika Gupta), who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Through the eyes of Godfrey (Riley Keough) and local police officer Cam (Lily Gladstone), the series takes us into the hidden world of the teenagers accused of the murder — revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.

Hulu Original’s goal was to produce an eye-catching, memorable video campaign for social media that would create intrigue and drive tune-in for “Under The Bridge.”

 

Strategy

Hulu Originals created a dark, intense social campaign that brought viewers into the show with tightly edited, often oppressive videos that submerged the audience in the mystery of "Under the Bridge." Each video focused on a different aspect of the story, capturing the feeling that a tragic mystery was unfolding. Alongside teasers, the campaign also included sneak peeks of upcoming episodes and viral moments with the cast.

Results

Hulu Original's “Under The Bridge” social campaign was a huge success, garnering more than 35 million views on TikTok and Instagram, with sneak peeks pulling in more than 25 million views on TikTok. 

"Under the Bridge" grabbed viewers' attention and didn't let go, making it the fourth most-streamed series across all platforms in the US during its release week, according to JustWatch.

The series was named Number 1 on Hulu’s Top 15 Most Watched Shows every week and garnered the most video views and social followers for a Hulu Scripted Drama in 2024.
