Objective

PATRÓN made its mark at Coachella and Stagecoach with #PATRÓNDesert, an immersive brand experience that served as a cornerstone of PATRÓN EL ALTO's national launch, which required a strategy that would resonate both at these prestigious festivals and across the country.

While #PATRÓNDesert created unforgettable moments for festival attendees, the brand recognized an opportunity to extend its impact beyond the desert. As part of its strategy, PATRÓN transformed The Viall Files, one of America's most influential pop culture podcasts, into a powerful storytelling platform that could reach millions of consumers nationwide.

The team aimed to prove that branded podcast content could transcend traditional advertising to become must-listen entertainment that drives cultural conversations.

 

Strategy

The strategic approach centered on three key pillars: authenticity, innovation, and storytelling excellence, with PATRÓN EL ALTO as the prestige tequila at the heart of it all.

The team identified The Viall Files as the perfect partner, not just for its massive reach but for host Nick Viall's genuine connection to PATRÓN EL ALTO. This wasn't a forced brand integration – Viall and co-host Natalie's history with PATRÓN, dating back to their own engagement celebration with the brand, provided the authentic foundation needed for compelling storytelling.

The production team revolutionized the traditional podcast format by creating a custom-designed PATRÓN Desert podcast studio that served as both a recording space and a visual content hub. This setup, inspired by the PATRÓN EL ALTO brand world, allowed them to capture not just audio but also dynamic video content that would extend the episode's reach across platforms.

The creative team's masterstroke came in casting Tom Schwartz as the guest – a decision that transformed what could have been a standard branded episode into a cultural moment. Schwartz's natural chemistry with Viall and his status as a fan-favorite guest created an episode that felt less like branded content and more like a can't-miss conversation between friends.

The production itself broke new ground in branded podcast innovation. The team seamlessly wove the festival experience into the conversation, capturing the excitement of Coachella while maintaining the intimate feel that podcast listeners crave. The result was a masterclass in branded content that never felt forced – where PATRÓN EL ALTO became a natural part of the story rather than an intrusion.
